We’ve been travelling the world for practically 8 years, however somehow we’re the worst at planning. We always leave whatever up until the last minute – whether it’s booking our accommodation, choosing on which city to go to next, or even which country we want to travel to!
Even though it can be a bit stressful, aggravating as well as costly leaving whatever up until the last minute, we have to admit that we like the spontaneity of this method of travel.
We were sitting in our hotel space in Florence, with just 6 days left in Italy. without any even more plans for our European adventure, we weren’t sure where to go next. Again, last minute planning at its finest.
We had withstood the -10 degree temperatures in Macedonia, we had experienced sufficient rain to last a lifetime in Croatia as well as Montenegro, as well as even though it was sunny in Rome, Florence as well as Venice, it was still truly cold in de avonden.

It was time for a change! The tropical traveller in us was craving some sunshine.

We understood this was the ideal area for our temporary home!
Except for 1 short article (which I glanced at over a year ago), we hadn’t checked out a single thing about Malta. however there we were, pressing the “buy now” button on our Ryan Air flights from Rome, as well as renting an house in an area of the island that we understood next to nothing about.
This mysterious location would be our house for the next two months.
We rented ourselves an house online, as well as although it costs much more than we have spent in the past, we are extremely delighted with it.
What to do when we check-in to our new apartment? Silly poses, of course
It’s spacious as well as bright with white beams running across the ceiling, conventional tiles on the floor, as well as a Maltese balcony. The restroom is significant as well as is fitted with a bathtub as well as laundry device (double yes!). The couches are comfy as well as the TV has familiar channels. There is great deals of wardrobe area as well as a bit deck for drying our laundry in the sunshine.
This may not noise all that interesting to you, however for us living out of our backpacks, having a laundry device as well as somewhere to hang our clothes is a huge deal!
It’s good to unpack our packs every when in a while
We’ve bought rosemary, sage, basil, thyme as well as mint plants, as well as have made this bit location our own. We’ve been enjoying going to the grocery store to purchase components for our healthy meals that we’ve been preparing (after eating our method with Italy, we requirement to get our health and wellness on!).Het is goed om voor onszelf te kunnen koken, in plaats van altijd uit te eten in een restaurant.

We wonen in de stad Sliema, en hoewel dit een hectisch onderdeel van het eiland is, vinden we het leuk om zo goed verbonden te zijn met alles. We zijn slechts een steenworp afstand van de veerboot om de haven over te steken naar Valletta, en zijn ook in de buurt van de grote bushaltes.

Net op de weg hebben we een belangrijke supermarkt, tonnen restaurants, talloze bars, fruit- en fruitverkopers en verse viswinkels.
De zee ligt op slechts een steenworp afstand van onze deur, en kijkt door de haven, we hebben een geweldig uitzicht op de UNESCO -stad Valletta. Er is ook een lange promenade aan zee die uitstekend is voor avondwandelingen met gelato in de hand.
We hebben een uitstekende zonsondergangspot op de rotsen ontdekt, en hebben een aantal uitstekende zonnebaden en natuurlijke zwembaden gevonden. Voor wandelingen hebben we een fantastisch pad gevonden dat we de “Rock Walk” hebben genoemd.

Vanaf ons appartement lopen we weg van de zee, omhoog smalle rijstroken en voorbij huizen met kleurrijke balkons. We cirkelen rond de prachtige kerk van onze vrouw van Install Carmel, voordat we wat trappen bereiken die naar de rotsen leidt.
In navolging van de kustlijn op ongelijke kalksteenrotsen, om een paar landdommen omzitten voordat we een aantal mooie door de mens gemaakte zwemgaten rondzakken! Deze rotspools werden in de jaren 1600 door de Engelsen geproduceerd, maar ze gebruikten om luifels te hebben die hen bedekken om ervoor te zorgen dat vrouwen privé konden baden.

De hele lus is ongeveer 3 kilometer en we vinden het absoluut leuk!
Het lijkt ons onmogelijk, maar we wonen al vrijwel 2 maanden in Malta. Onze tijd hier is vol met interessante activiteiten, die alle 3 eilanden bekijken en natuurlijk het werk inhalen.

We zijn naar wijnhuizen gegaan, ondergrondse graven verkennen en hebben met het platteland gelopen. We hebben gedineerd met smakelijk eten, tevreden met een aantal fantastische mensen, en zagen conventioneel dansen. We hebben de symfonie bekeken, gezien het vuurwerkfestival, evenals verkende historische steden.
Malta heeft het echt allemaal.

Ons favoriete deel van Malta tot nu toe heeft onze nieuwe Maltese goede vrienden Michelle & Nikki (hierboven afgebeeld) en hun leuke groep vrienden bevredigd. Het is zo leuk om met hen rond te hangen, verschillende delen van het eiland te zien waar alleen de lokale bevolking van begrijpt en ontdekt over de cultuur hier. Ze namen ons zelfs mee naar een barbecue -viering in een grot! Hoe geweldig is dat precies?

De beslissing om online te nemen in Malta is de allerbeste optie voor ons. We zijn hier echt tevreden geweest, en zijn blij om alles met u te delen over deze eilandnatie! We hebben tot nu toe 4 video’s geproduceerd, maar we zullen de komende weken veel artikelen schrijven, dus houd het in de gaten …
