I’ve been living in or going to Thailand for thirteen years. I’ve been around the country. Ko Phi Phi is one of those locations that takes the worst of Thailand tourism as well as puts everything in one overpriced location. This location has nothing to offer you can’t get on one more island.
Thailand is full of beautiful, picturesque tropical islands like Ko Mak, Ko Jum, Ko Chang, Ko Adang, as well as Ko Lanta. Those are the ones you see on postcards, the ones that spur the creativity as well as attract adventure.

*Ik heb geen fout in de lokale bevolking. Als je te maken hebt gehad met de irritante vieringstoeristen die ik dagelijks op dat eiland van je leven zag, zou je ook geen f*ck bieden!
Opmerking: ik begrijp dat ze onlangs hebben gekozen om Maya Bay in het laagseizoen te sluiten om het een pauze te geven. Het is de stap in de beste richting, maar ik geloof niet dat het veel zal wijzigen. Ze hebben het eiland al gevestigd. Ze vereisen dat ze alle structuren daar elimineren, het aantal mensen beperken dat gaat, en bieden de natuur een tijd om te genezen. Op voorwaarde dat het track record van de overheid bij het naleven van met milieubeloften, zal ik mijn adem niet inhouden.
